Travel description:

The West Highland Way is Scotland's first official long-distance hiking trail, which was officially opened in October 1980. Despite its popularity, it is and remains a true paradise for nature lovers. The starting point is "Milngavie", a small town on the northern outskirts of Glasgow. A total of 4,500 metres of elevation must be mastered on this route. It is not long before you reach Loch Lomond. A little later, it becomes what you would imagine the Highlands to be: rugged, mountainous, but also more lonely in Rannoch Moor. The finale offers the highest mountain in Great Britain - Ben Nevis. The trail ends in Fort Williams.
